The Painted Door StudioThe Painted Door Studio emerged from an open studio event as part of the Manly Arts Festival in 2007. Judith had been working from this same space in Seaforth for the previous 4 years. It was purely a private studio where she sketched and painted behind a closed door. Two of her sisters attended the open studio event and by the end of the day, decided to combine their efforts and open the studio to the public.Libby paints scenes of still life and interiors in acrylics on canvas and Robyn sources unusual and one-off pieces, collectables and “objets d’art”. Together the sisters formed a working studio operation and called it “The Painted Door” after the transformation of the otherwise ordinary studio door into a work of art. The studio lends itself to a French style Atelier, where the paintings mingle with French and European decorative pieces and the smell of oil paint and linseed, lead the viewer to where the work is being created. You can visit the Painted Door Studio between the hours of 10am and 5pm Tuesday to Saturday. 3/575 Sydney Road, Seaforth, NSW 2092, Australia. |
